239 Siege of Spanish Fort Ala April 1st 1865 Saturday I Enjoyed a good sleep last night, as the 24 hours We spent on the skirmish line was very fatigueing and sleep was out of the question when the enemy are so active, Made out Monthly Report of Alterations to adjutant General of State of Iowa also a Report of Casualties for the 1st Quarter of 1865, to Adjt. of Regt. finished Reading a Book Entitled the Child of Nature, sharp, But severe on morality.
