241 Siege of Spanish Fort Alabama April 3d 1865 Monday I was Detailed with Company "C" yesterday evening for Fatigue duty and worked all night running a trench or sap to an advanced Fort of 6, 30 lb parrott Guns, and making a Magizine for same Battery. Considerable random firing at our working Parties but no Causulties. Came of Duty at 5 A.M. to day slept this fore noon, and read one of Mrs. Greys
