244 Siege of Spanish Fort Ala April 5" 1865 Wedensday The Boombardment of the Forts last night by all our Batteries was quite grand, But not reaching the grandeur of the Vicksburg Siege. The Rebels Replied only with a few guns & some Mortars. A.L. Brown & John Sprouls Returned to Regt. last night. Our boys are fixing up slight Boom Proofs over our Trenches which serves as a shade in day time, & from pieces of shells
