247 Siege of Spanish Fort Ala April 7" 1865 Friday Wrote a letter to G. L. Henderson with a statement of the progress of the Siege. Read the Phrenological Journal for March very interesting articles. I with Co. "C". was Detailed for Picket guard and we had a Hot time as we were in close proximity to the Enemy, our Brigade Picket ran a sap still farther out & Came in Contact with the Rebel Pickets one of whom was Captured by mistaking our sap for theirs, & [jumped?] into the sap of the 2d Brigade
