252 of the Heavy guns was Dismounted, and from the evident destruction of everything within the Fort shows that it must have been a Hot place for the Garrison 800 of whom have been killed and wounded during the 13 days of the Siege. Corporal,s Jordan & Moine of Co. "C". were amongst the first into the Fort from the 12" & secured some good [hams?] & quarter master stores from the C. S. stores. I Recd from Wm Jordan a fine new Cedar Canteen
