261 In the Field near Mobile ala April 13th 1865 Thursday Mobile was ocupied yesterday by the 13th Corps, The Citizens having formaly surrendered the City after the Confederate Army Evacuated. All the Prisoners & artillery Captured by the 16th Corps was turned over to the 13 Corps. & our men relieved from Duty as guards over the Captured Forts. and we marched this morning for the Interior up the East Bank of the Mobile River. Marched 8 miles & Camped in good season (Vertically, at right:-) so that our men brought in some fresh meat of very poor quality as the stock in this region ar very poor at this season
