Away down in Alabama April 15th 1865 Saturday Marched this morning at 7 oclock through the same interminable maze of Pine Forest, On the level surface of which is inumerable ponds of Brakish water alive with animalcule which is quit visable to the naked eye, for they vary in size from the tailless pollywog to the Mamoth Aligator and yet those ponds furnish our onely supply of water. for settlements & cool fountain
