264 are like "angels winds few & far between" Away down in Alabama and when we do Come upon a House in this wilderness the souroundings are not Cheering as Ignorance, want Desolation & decay is too apparent in these Homes & on those plantations. as the extreme youth, and the aged are mostly the onely ocupants, as the Strong & vigorous have been swallowed up in that vortex of Horrid war. Marched 18 miles to day
