283 Montgomery Alabama April 28th 1865 Friday Hutchins, Jordan & I fixed up our Tent under the shade of a spruce Tree built a Bunk & Covered it with pine Boughs, and Commenced on our Muster & pay Rolls for March & April. I was Detailed with 40 men of our Brigade to build a dam to save water for a mill our Brigade is running. finished the job at 11 oclock A.M. satisfactorily to all Parties
