286 Montgomery Alabama April 30th 1865 Sunday I was Detailed for Picket and went on Duty at 8 A.M. this morning. Picket Duty is done by Brigade Details. Guard mounting of Regt Hd Qrs and then report to Brigade Hd Qrs where the the Guards from Regts are Reviewed & sent to the Picket lines under charge of the Capt on Duty. Mustered to day by Col. Marshal Comdg 3 Brigade, Fleet arrived (Vertically, from bottom right:-) this forenoon as I heard the whisle when on the Picket line as at the [?] shout of the men in Camp.
