287 Montgomery Alabama May 1st 1865 Monday the Assasination of the President was officialy made known to the Troops of this Corps last night. the news was received with general grief and I judged Correctly it will go hard with the Rebel leaders if they are proved accessories of the atrocious murder, Rations was Issued to the men to day. No mail Recd yet. wrote to Mrs Henderson
