289 Montgomery Ala May 3d 1865 Wedensday Continued rummors of Peace prevail, Nothing official. Andrew Johnson takes the oath of Office and enters on the Duties of President. Jeff Davis is Reported Captured, & Johnsons Army Drawing Rations from Sherman & being Paroled some of whom are arroung at Montgomery on their way Home. Drill twice per day of new men (Vertically, from bottom right:-) Wrote a letter to Mr Durno and one to D. B. Henderson
