291 of 5000 Prisoners 300 pieces of Artillery several Thousand Stacks of small arms, and a great amount of war material & signed Canby Comdg Dept. One of the Wooden Mortars used on Spanish Fort by our Division was presented to the Iowa 12" & 35, 1 to the 33" Mo & one to the 7" Min. by Gen McArthur to be presented to the diferent States Historical societies as momento,s of the last Ditch we used said Mortars. (Vertically, from bottom right:-) These mortars were used on the Skirmish line of 1st Division 16" A.C. and I think the are the onely ones used in this war & they done fine execution in driving the Enemy from their works
