296 Montgomery Ala May 9th 1865 Tuesday Rec'd a partial Supply of Clothing to day. The Loyal Citizens of Montgomery or rather a few of them with their Lady Friends, Came up see & bid farewell to Jonas of this Regt who they knew & befriended while our Boys were Prisoners of war in their City. I had a good time reading Northern papers but none later than April 19". The McGregor Press still Comes to me.
