7 Selma Ala May 21st. 1865 Sunday We Rec'd a small mail today had a letter from Mrs Henderson of Date April 25th.. general Spring weather had then at last visited Iowa and grain was being sowen rappidly. Wrote one letter to Mrs Henderson today. very Conflicting Reports are circulated with reg'd to the mustering out of the Army. But one thing is Certain the armies of Sherman, Meade &c are being Concentrated arround Washington evidently for the purpose of being disbanded, But scarcely one reliable item of news ever reaches us now, Boats are passing up the river to Montgomery [to?] to [illegible] 6 or 8 after Troops
