27 Selma Ala June 7th..1865 Wednesday Read the History of Marshals Poniatowski Grouchy and Ney. The Discharges of Sergts Anderson, Moreland, Switzer, King, Jackson, Dunham, and Brennen Came approved by Gen Smith and they mustered in to day, the first 6 as 1st Lieut. and Brennen as Capt. to take rank and date from May 24th..1865 Mailed a letter to Mrs Henderson today. Remarkably Hot Weather more so than I have yet felt in the South or any where else,
