13 Selma Alabama June 21st 1865 Wedensday Co "I". was detached from Regt. to day to do duty in Freedman Dept. Also Capt Gibson Co. "S", detailed as Quarter Master of Selma. I am very much aflicted with boils, Blood in bad Condition. Sickness is increasing at this post, and now there a funeral nearly every day. As far as we Can learn there is nothing being done about the Departments at Washington with regard to mustering out of Troops, or reorganizing the Regular Army, or in fact anything of importance.
