20 Southern R. R. Miss Wedensday June 28th 1865 left Meridian for Jackson at 7 this A.M. passing the miserable looking station & villages of Chunky, Forest, Morton, Brandon &c arriving at Jackson at 6 oclock P.M. I found no further trace of Brown at this or any of the above places, so I took a hack for Big Black in Company with Mr Ogden. & Lieut W. B. Sayers Adj't of the 8th Texas Confederate Cavalry now paroled & on His way home to Colorado River Texas they were Both Sociable and very inteligent
