183 Jan 1 Benton Barracks 1862 I Recd 10 days Rations of groceries for Company today 2 I returned 161 lbs of pork because it was spoiled & magoty it was issued to us to day 2 the pleasant weather has changed to rain which froze lightly as it fell making it slipery walking
