Monday January 5th 1885 I was at home all the forenoon and soon after dinner Will and I walked over to town, called at Chalfonts and went on down to Hatts to supper. Ott was there too, and soon after supper the hack called for Will to go to the train It was a rainy gloomy night and it made me feel lonely enough to have Will go away especially as he was not well. Mothers birth day Tuesday January 6th 1885 I staid at Hatts all night. Mother sent for me in the sleigh this morning. I found May nearly sick with cold when I got here. Worked on mothers skirt all day. Wednesday January 7th 1885 It was rather a pleasant day. We got the washing done by noon. Mother was over town and Hatt came home with her, I worked on Mothers skirt. Burton came back. Thursday January 8th 1885 Mother and Hattie went to the cemetery this morning with flowers for Robs grave. Mother did not come home till nearly night as she visited at Moores. I worked about the house all day. Joe brought Edith over in the sleigh. Friday January 9th 1885 I went over to town soon as I got my morning work done I had my dinner at Hatties. Came home just before night. Saturday January 10th 1885 I was at home all day. Mother went to town before dinner and Hattie came home with her and stayed all night. Edith is still here. Otto went to Burlington last night.
