Thursday May 7th 1885. It was a windy disagreeable day. Mother was over town in the afternoon. I put in considerable time at the piano. Friday May 8th 1885. Mother and Hatt went down to Uncle Jims to stay all day though the weather was far from pleasant. I put in considerable time at the piano. We had a card from Lee and I wrote him a letter. Saturday May 9th 1885. I was home all the forenoon helping with the work and practicing. Mother went to town. I was over in the afternoon, called on Mrs Comay and was at Hatts awhile It is her birth-day and John got her a stand for a present. weather some-what pleasanter. Sunday May 10th 1885. I helped some about the work in the forenoon as soon as we ate our dinner Mother and I walked up to the cemetery We found the folks all there we stopped at Hatts a little while and got home before supper. I felt lonely and sad all the afternoon and evening. Monday May 11th 1885. Ida did a large washing this forenoon and I cleaned up the house. Mother was in town all the afternoon and I at the piano. I sewed a little in the evening. Mother finished a rug for Hatt that was begun two years ago Ott came home from Burlington this morning he went down Saturday afternoon.
