Thursday May 21st 1885 Mother undertook to wash a few things this morning and only just got into it when Hatt and Aunty Walker came I helped with the work and found a little time in the afternoon to finish my letter. In the evening the folks all went to Clutes to the library. I practiced a couple of hours. Mother engaged a wash woman this morning. Friday May 22nd 1885 We had a large washing done today. Mother went to the valley in the afternoon and did not get home till late bed time. I put in three hours at the piano today. Saturday May 23rd 1885 I got the house cleaned up and the ironing done before noon. I rested awhile after dinner and practiced two hours. I put the clothes away and helped get the supper ready I was very tired and went to bed early. weather very warm. Sunday May 24th 1885 I was sick all day. I helped a little with the work John & Hatt were over with the children in the afternoon and she helped get supper. Mother found a girl in the evening that promises to come Tuesday to work. Monday May 25th 1885 I felt some better today. I sewed some and practiced three hours. Mother was over town in the afternoon. weather quite pleasant.
