Tuesday May 26th 1885 Our new girl did not come to work. Hatt was over to stay till after dinner and Mother went home with her. I sewed a little and practiced three hours. I had a letter from Will which I answered in the evening. Wednesday May 27th 1885 I was in town most of the forenoon and practiced in the afternoon. Mother was over in the afternoon. Thursday May 28th 1885 We had the washing done today. It rained so only part of the clothes got dry. I practicied three hours and ironed a few things at supper time. Friday May 29th 1885 It was a steady rainy day. I ironed a little and practiced three hours besides sewing a little. I had a letter from Ida today which I answered. Hatt gave a party this afternoon for Little Rob is two years old. May and Mother went over. I got the supper alone. Saturday May 30th 1885 Weather somewhat pleasanter. I got the house all cleaned up and practiced an hour in the afternoon. Mother and May went over to the decoration in the forenoon. I put in the time at the piano. I read a little after supper and went to bed early. Mr Hill died last night. he was Aunt Mary father by adoption.
