Sunday May 31st 1885 I felt wretchedly all day. Grandma came just before noon for a three days visit. John & Hatt were over with the children and stayed till after supper. I helped what I felt able to with the meals. Monday June 1st 1885 I was busy about the work most of the forenoon. Mother and Grandmother went over to Hatties to spend the day. I practiced a couple of hours in the afternoon. weather rainy Tueasday June 2nd 1885 I did up the work and practiced awhile this morning just before noon it came up a dreadful rain storn and it hailed a lot too. All the boys did not come home to dinner. Uncle Jim came after Grandmother before night. I had a letter from Will. Wednesday June 3rd 1885 We had the washing done and got most of the clothes dry before it rained in the afternoon. We ironed part of the things. I got in a couple of hours practice and in the evening wrote to Will. There was a hard rain tonight. Thursday June 4th 1885 There was a show in town today and Mother and May went over to see the parade. I got the dinner. Hattie and the children come home with them to stay the rest of the day. I finished the ironing in the afternoon. weather sultry and threatening rain. It was so damp in the parlor I could not practice any today.
