Wednesday July 1st 1885 I soon got the work done up this morning and practiced an hour. Mrs Holson and her Mother was here to spend the day. I sewed a little for Robbie what time I had. I was very tired and went to bed early. Thursday July 2nd 1885 We had a washing done today and Mother ironed a little while. May and I got the dinner. She went to town in the afternoon. I practiced a little while weather growing very warm. I wrote to Will in the afternoon Friday July 3rd 1885 We got the ironing and some baking done before dinner and Mother went over to Folsoms to spend the afternoon with the ladies of the neighborhood. Ott and I spent the evening there with the young folks. [the words "john went" are struck out] Saturday July 4th 1885 I was at home all day and the weather was very warm. John went to Berlington in the afternoon. Lee to the valley. Mother and May were in town awhile I took care of Robbie. Charlie McCallister was here all night. Sunday July 5th 1885 I was busy about the house all the forenoon and I had to take care of Robbie some. We had a terrible rain storm at noon and another just at supper time. I read a little and played some on the piano. Charlie McCallister did not go home today.
