Sunday August 2nd 1885 It was a faithful rainy day and I did not stir out of the house. I enjoyed my visit with the folks and the rest I had. the weather is so cold and nice. Monday August 3rd 1885 Ott and I got to the city at eight oclock I was around town till about ten. Arthur Chalfort and bride were on the same train with us. I helped finish the washing when I came home and Mother and I did nearly all the ironing before four oclock. I went to the valley then with Lee. I stayed at Aunt Libs. Tuesday August 4th 1885 Aunt Lib and I spent the day very pleasantly at Aunt Ellens. she was not very well. The girls were both home and got us an excellent dinner. Granmdma was there. Wednesday August 5th 1885 I spent the entire day up to Grandmas having a very pleasant visit. I had only got back to Aunt Libs when Lee come for me. We got home at nine oclock. A letter [the following text is written vertically in the right margin of the above date] here from Will. Thursday August 6th 1885 I was sewing most of the day. I made a dress for May and did some other jobs of sewing Eva was gone part of the day and brought her little sister back with her. Miss White was here a little while in the evening. I wrote a letter to Will in the evening. Mother has decided to go to Berlington tomorrow. May goes with her
