Thursday August 20th 1885 It was a warm day. I sat at home knitting most of the time. wrote a long letter to Will. Late in the afternoon Ann, Aunty and myself walked over to call on a couple of Henry's sisters. Friday August 21st 1885 I was home all the forenoon. I drawed on a part of a skirt to chain stitch for Ann. I worked some on my edging. I wrote to Minnie and Laura. Us girls were down town in the afternoon. I got thread and began work on Ann's shirt. The dus[t] is awful. Saturday August 22nd 1885 We were at home all day. I had a letter from Hatt and answered it. She says Anna Anderson is to be married next Wednesday. I wish she had waited a couple of years yet. Sunday August 23rd 1885 It rained so we could not go to camp meeting and I read in the forenoon and wrote in the afternoon. Just before night Henry, Ann, Maud and I took a walk down by the river. had a card from Father. Monday August 24th 1885 It was a rainy day which was most grateful for the heat and dust had become intolerable I worked steadily on Anns skirt and finished up one breadth. I wrote to Father.
