Tuesday August 25th 1885 Ann did her washing this morning we were over town just before dinner. I had a letter and paper from Will today. Soon as we ate dinner all the women in this family with Ann Gay and Aunt Rhoda went to South Bend and to see the catholic institutions at St Marys and Notre Dame. It was a little cool for the drive but we enjoyed it splendidly and it is equal to a visit to the old country the church at Notre Dame. We got home jist at supper time. Wednesday August 25th 1885 It was a chilly day. I was over town in the morning. I was disappointed that I have not heard from home and wrote there. I was sewing all day. Thursday August 27th 1885 I sewed a little and the two Auntys and Maud and I spent the day over to Aunty Strongs and we were very pleasantly entertained. Aunty Walker is not at all well tonight. no letters today. Ann had company for supper. Friday August 28th 1885 I was sewing part of the day. I went to town just before dinner and got two letters from home. I wrote to Will and to Hatt in the afternoon. I had a letter from Mrs Davis late in the day. she is in Chicago . weather growing warmer and pleasanter. Aunty Walker feels some better.
