Saturday August 29th 1885 Ann, Maud and I went to the Bend and were gone all the forenoon. I had letters from Mother and Vene. I wrote to Mother. I was sewing all the afternoon and evening. a slight rain. Sunday August 30th 1885 It was late when we got up this morning and nearly noon before we went up to Aunt Rhodas. We had a very pleasant visit. After we came back Ann and I took a walk over town. We were visiting all the evening. Monday August 31st 1885 We got up early this morning. Anna did a large washing I worked steadily on Anna's skirt all the spare time I had all day. Father came on the eleven oclock train There was company in at night to see us. Tuesday September 1st 1885 Father started back to Chicago on the morning train. I worked all the forenoon to finish Anna's skirt. After dinner I packed up my things and Aunty and I were ready to start on the five oclock train, but it was more than two hours late. It was nearly eleven oclock when we reached Chicago. Father and John Hart was at the depot We found Mrs Hart up and a nice supper ready for us when we got there. Aunty stood the trip better than I though she would. The weather is very cold for the season. I had a letter from Will and one from Hatt this morning.
