Friday October 16th 1885 I went over town real early. Lee went to Cedar Rapids with the military company. I helped with the dinner at the church. I saw Clara and she went over to see Hattie with me. I brought both the children home with me to stay all night. Mother & Hatt went to hear Mrs J Ellen Foster. Saturday October 17th 1885 Hatt was over and took the children home with her. I went to town just before supper. I began some lace for the curtains in the parlor bedroom. Ott went to the valley. Sunday October 18th 1885 I was busy about the work all the forenoon. Jim and Mary were up for a visit and Grandma went home with them. It began to rain late in the afternoon. Ott got home. Monday October 19th 1885 It rained all day long. I worked steadily on my lace. Tuesday October 20th 1885 I was at home all day. Lee was not well. Mother went over for medicine for him in the afternoon. I had a letter from Will. Wednesday October 21st 1885 I was busy about the house nearly all the forenoon. Lee very much better today. I was in town after dinner got me a new hat and had a tooth filled. Uncle Jim Stevens ate dinner here. Ott went to North Liberty to speak tonight I put in the evening writing to Will. weather pleasant after the rain.
