Monday October 26th 1885 It was a delightful morning. Lib and I walked down town and I did some trading before going to the Harris house. Soon after dinner Bird and us girls went across the river on a ferry for a ride and were left on the other side for nearly an hour. We did not go up home from the house till after supper. I had a letter from Will Work. This is a day of interest to Will Reed and I. he will not forget it I know. Tuesday October 27th 1885 Ida went with us to see Miss Lewis today but did not feel well and went right home after dinner and Lib went with her. I stayed and went on the four oclock car. It was a drizzling day and at night set in to rain hard. Wednesday October 28th 1885 It was a rainy day. We stayed right at home all day. I was working on lace for a side board scarf. Charlie and Lib went to the theater in the evening. Us girls went to bed early. Ida was not feeling very well. Thursday October 29th 1885 We got up early this morning and Charlie brought us down to the depot. the ride up was not very tedious. Hattie came over home with us and we found Aunty Walker hid been here and that Lee had been worse again. She went home in the afternoon and Mother sent to town I worked on my edging and in the evening wrote a letter to Will as I found one from him for me here at home. I came from Berlington a year ago today come from Welover
