Saturday December 5th 1885 It was a fearful cold mean day. I was sewing all day on my napkins that I am embroidering and did fourteen. Sunday December 6th 1885 It was a fearful cold day. We were all here at home trying to keep comfortable by the fire. We had tirkey for dinner. I wrote a letter to Ida in the evening. Monday December 7th 1885 It was less wintry than yesterday. I finished the napkins and washed them out. Mother and May went to town in the afternoon to see Dr Hobby about her eye which is very sore. I began lace in the evening for Hatts side board scarf. Tuesday December 8th 1885 I was working on my lace till the middle of the afternoon. When Joe took May and I to town. she was too late to see the doctor and I could not get my work done on my teeth. I staid over to Hatts till bed time and Joe brought me home in the buggy. I had a letter from Will. Mother and I had a long talk in the evening about the visit he is to make here in a few weeks. Ott went to Marshalltown today. Wednesday December 9th 1885 It was a miserable snowy bad day. Joe took May over to the doctors this morning. I was busy at home working at Hatts side board scarf. I got it out lined and made a little more of the lace for the end. Ott got home this afternoon. I wrote to Will in the evening.
