Thursday December 10th 1885 May and I went to town in the big sleigh this morning and she will stay over all day. I did a little shopping for christmas and was at Hatts for dinner. I was at the dentists all the afternoon having a large gold filling put in. Ott and I selected a chair for a christmas present for John. I had a letter from Will Work. Friday December 11th 1885 May and I both went to town in the sleigh early in the forenoon. I took her to the doctors and then did some going about town. I was at the dentists a couple of hours in the afternoon. Joe came for me at five. May staid all night. Saturday December 12th 1885 Mother and I did an immense days work frying out lard and putting away the meat of the hog we had killed yesterday. I washed out a few things and put them in the garret. May is still over to Hatts. I worked a little on the lace for my side board scarf in the eve. I have Hatts done. Sunday December 13th 1885 It was a mean cold day. I was busy about the house all the forenoon. Jake Lamb was here all the afternoon John & Hatt were here for supper. I wrote to John Hart and Anna Gilbert in the evening and sent pictures of Robt Jr. Monday December 14th 1885 I washed this forenoon and worked on the lace for my side board scarf. Mother was busy part of the day finishing up the meat we cut up on Saturday. weather not very pleasant.
