Monday December 21st 1885 I was about home all the forenoon and soon after dinner Will and I went to town for a little while and then drove out to the west farm for a ride. We got home just at supper time and in the evening went to hear Keene in "Othello" It was splendid, we were all there and all delighted. Tuesday December 22nd 1885 As soon as I could get the work done in the morning Will and I went out to Em Wildies for a visit (but to the cemetery first with flowers). Our stay out to Ems was pleasant and our ride home rather enjoyable. It was nearly night when we got home. The evening was spent talking up in my room. Father got home today looking first rate. Wednesday December 23rd 1885 I was busy about the house all the forenoon and soon after dinner Will and I went over to Hatts to help her with the tree. I was up town after supper to help John select presents for Hatt and we got a beautiful gold headed cane for Father. The tree is going to be splendid I sent Will Work a gold tooth pick for a present. It was bed time when Will and I got home. Thursday December 24th 1885 It was a real pleasant day. I was busy doing some baking in the forenoon and late in the afternoon we all went over to Hatts. the christmas tree was splendid and we had such a happy time. We all got many beautiful presents and the children were delighted with their toys.
