We could not have had a happier time. About ten oclock we brought some of our presents and came home to talk the evening over an hour before seperating for the night. We were greatly surprised by each receiving a present from Charlie and Ida that had been sent in care of the Ashleys. The only thing that could possibly made us feel sad was that they with Dear Robert could not be with us. Friday December 25th 1885 It was late when we got the work done up and the folks were over for the day. We spent a pleasant day with them and enjoyed our turkey dinner. John & Hatt with Will and I went down to Aunt Libs to a party at night. The young folks there were not expecting us and we got up a burlesque on their flower party which caused lots of laughing. It was a merry christmas night. Saturday December 26th 1885 I was at work about the house all the forenoon and as soon as we ate our dinner Will and I started to take some flowers to the cemetery that Charlie had sent up. From there we went out to call on Anna & Jay. We came to Ed Lucas for a call and they insisted so as stayed there till after supper. We had a delightful visit As soon as we got home Mother and Father went to Folsoms to spend the evening. Will went to town awhile and Ott and I did some talking on personal matters.
