Sunday December 27th 1885 It was a pleasant winter day and Will and I with the Whetstones family went down to Aunt Ellers for dinner We had a splendid days visit and got home just at night. It began to rain so we did not go the church but settled down for a pleasant evening at home. We brought Mothers new lamp over from Hatts tonight. Monday December 28th 1885 I washed some in the forenoon after cleaning up the house good. Soon after dinner Will and I drove down to Aunt Lindas for a call. It was just dark when we got home and it began to rain. We spent the evening at home. I got a gold pen from Will Work with a letter. Tuesday December 29th 1885 It was a gloomy rainy day. I was busy all the forenoon cleaning up the house. Mother roasted the turkey for the supper tonight. Will helped me hang the new lamp and make some other changes about the house. Soon after dinner him and I went to town for some things we needed for supper. It rained on us all the time. I was at Hatts for a few moments. We got ready for the company as soon as we got home there was enough come to have a splendid time, though the night was dark and storm. The supper was a success and all appeared to enjoy it very much.
