Wednesday December 30th 1885 We were late getting about this morning and the day was short. Aunty Walker did not go home. Us young folks all went to Ashleys to the progressive euchere party at night. And had a splendid time. got home at twelve Thursday December 31st 1885 weather a little more pleasant. I was busy about the house part of the day. Aunty went home before dinner We were all invited to Chalfonts for supper and did have the grandest time yet at the watch [illegible] and cords that lasted till twelve when Esther furnished lunch. It was an evening long to be remembered. We found it snowing when we came home at one oclock. Friday january 1, 1886 I did not feel able to get up till nearly noon to help with the dinner. Mother went to the horse show in the afternoon. Will and I had a good visit at home and the report of the show was so favorable that we went in the evening and enjoyed it wonderfully. Saturday January 2nd 1886 It rained nearly all day. Will was over town in the morning. We sat in the parlor in the afternoon and I read aloud some. The evening was devoted to serious conversation for a wonder. We could not go to Uncle Jims this afternoon on account of the weather and roads. It looks as if we were not to get to the valley at all. we were invited to Evord[?] was Wednesday.
