Saturday January 16th 1886 It was a cold day and I stayed right at home. I finished my pillow cases and got my satin dress ready to make over. Father started back to Topeka. Sunday January 17th 1886 As we sat at breakfast Hatt came with the children Mother and Lee had their arrangements all made to go to the valley so they went. We girls had a grand visit and then I got dinner before they went home. Mr. Bevington and Southerland came and they stayed till seven oclock. I wrote a little in the evening. Monday January 18th 1886 Mother was over town nearly all day. She went to Mrs Hills funeral in the afternoon. I sent May to town in the morning to bring me some muslin. I worked on a skirt for myself during the day. weather quite cold. Tuesday January 19th 1886 I was at home sewing all day. I did not feel so very well. I had letters from Will Reed and Vene. Wednesday January 20th 1886 I worked on my muslin a little in the forenoon and Hatt came over in the afternoon with Johneys colies coat for the party and I helped her work on it and I sewed some of Otts and Lees It snowed hard today. Uncle Jim Mc was here for dinner. I wrote to Will in the evening.
