Sunday May 16th 1886 The forenoon was short and spent in writing. I wrote some and Will & Henry were out walking in the afternoon. Henry & Anna with Will and I went to South Bend on the street car. We had a good time though we were nearly frozen when we came back and Anna made me somthing warm to dring which we had lots of fun over. The evening was spent in conversation and music. Monday May 17th 1886 The boys were over town in the forenoon. Henry did not work today after an early dinner we all went for a ride to St Marys and Notre Dame. It was a most pleasant trip and we were home by supper time. We walked up to Aunt Rhodas in the morning. Tuesday May 18th 1886 The day was spent in working and receiving calls, looking over the pictures and visiting among ourselves and passed only too quickly as the last one here. Hattie Fay was with with us all day and she and Anna went with Will and I to South Bend on the street car at eight oclock. We left that place at eleven on a fast train on the Lake Shore for Toledo. We had a comfortable night's travel. Wedneasday May 19th 1886 We only had time for transfer at Toledo and to get a cup of coffee before starting for Columbia. The road was through lovely forests. After a two hour wait there was started for Chillicothe where we arrived at two oclock. Mary had not received my letter and was not at the depot. We went to Offetts where we stayed till early evening when she came for us. I was very tired indeed. We found some good letters from home awaiting us. It is most pleasant to be here.
