Friday June 18th 1886 As soon as the work was done this morning Mother and Will took a ride to the west farm. I ironed some and got the dinner. In the afternoon Will and I went for a ride and to town to see the exhibition drill. the dust is very bad indeed. Saturday June 19th 1886 Mother and I got the work done up early this morning and we all went over to Hatties to wait for the carriage to take us to the depot to meet Charlie & Ida with the baby they brought up for burial We drove directly to the cemetery and all came back to Hatties to dinner Miss Lewis was with them. We spent the afternoon and evening talking. Sunday June 20th 1886 Charlie & Ida went to the valley and the rest of us read and loafed away the day. Mother & Miss Lewis went to the opera house in the afternoon but hurried home for it looked like rain. The Whetstone family came over and stayed till after supper. Monday June 21st 1886 I was busy most of the forenoon cleaning up the house and talking with Ida. Miss Lewis went over to Hatts. The folks started back to Berlington in the afternoon. Will and I staid to keep house. Tuesday June 22nd 1886 We had the washing done today. I helped with the work pretty much all day. Some of the girl cousins called in the afternoon and in the evening Mrs Clute was here. I ironed a little and got the clothes rolled up ready to finish tomorrow. Weather not so very warm but there has been no rain and the dust is intolerable.
