Thursday July 15th 1886 I finished the ironing in the forenoon and in the afternoon went out to the field with Will to put water for the horses in some tanks he took out. We came around and got ice. In the evening we all sat on the porch. Friday July 16th 1886 I rode to the west farm in the morning with Will and talked with him most of the afternoon while Mother was gone to town. It was a doleful day but the evening was more pleasantly spent with Ott & Will on top of the house. Saturday July 17th 1886 Will took some of the cattle to the valley in the morning. him and I went out to water the horses in the afternoon and on over town to see if the phaeton was fixed. he went back with both horses to get it. I wrote to May. In the evening Will and I went to town. Dr Moore and wife were here for supper. Sunday July 18th 1886. Will and I went down to Stevens to spend the day after he brought Hattie and the childrem over for the day. We had a splendid visit. We sat on the porch after the evening work was done. Monday July 19th 1886 I went with Will in the forenoon to water the horses and when we came back found Aunty Walker here. Father and Ott both started away today. I had a letter from May. Will went to the west farm for hay in the afternoon and Lee took Aunty home in the buggy after supper. Will, Mother, and I sat on the porch all the evening. no rain yet.
