Sunday August 2nd 1886 We got the work done this morning before the Chalfants came over to spend the day. We had a pleasant visit with them. The evening we spent in the parlor reading. Monday August 2nd 1886 I continue to cough so much with my cold that Will took me to town this morning and we went to Dr Rockey. The afternoon I spent at home. Mother went to town to see Hatt and Edith start for berlington. I do not feel well. Tuesday August 3rd 1886 We had the washing done this forenoon. As soon as we ate dinner Will and I went to the valley and took Robbie with us for a ride. It was supper time when we got home. Wednesday August 4th 1886 I went with Will to the pasture to water the horses and from there on out to the farm and did not get home till noon. Mother was in town all the afternoon. I worked a little and read some I feel very much better of my cold. Thursday August 5th 1886 I went to town with Will this morning to get some things for dinner. When we came back Will took Mother down to Folsoms to spend the day. We had rain last night. Friday August 6h 1886 Will and I spent the day at the boat house to a picnic and a delightful day it was. We found Mr Free home for supper when we came home. John & Robbie were here to stay all night. I am getting very much better of my cold.
