Monday September 6th 1886 We washed this morning and Mother ironed some while Will and I drove over town to see the Ashleys about a surprise party we are getting up for John & Hatt. I worked some on the nets. We drove with the new harness. Tuesday September 7th 1886 I was at home all day. Mother went down to Uncle Jims to spend the day. I worked some on the nets. Wednesday September 8th 1886 I worked all my time till three oclock to finish the nets and Will put them on the horses to take me to town. I was at Hatts for supper and then her and I went down to Kate Winchesters for a call. Will come down there for me and we stopped for John to go home with us. The company was there and they were completely surprised John & Hatt put on their wedding clothes and we had a merry party. It was not late when we got home. Thursday Septembner 9th 1886 I was busy about the hosue most the forenoon. Jake Lamb was here for dinner. I fixed a dress for May in the afternoon and Will and I went to town before supper. Friday September 10th 1886 I was busy about the work most of the forenoon. Mother was in town. Will was feeling so badly that he did not sit up in the afternoon. Hatt was over for supper and Mother went to town with her. They went to the depot to meet Aunt Lydia but she did not come. Mother brought home medicine for Will.
