14 Memphis Tennesee July 26th 1864 Tuesday I read a letter from Jane dated July 12th containing one of his photographs a very good one. I went to the city today & saw our wounded boys in the Adams Hospl.. I bought pencil envelopes. Diary. & Co Rool Book for 1.05. I mailed a paper to Jane with a letter in it descriptive of the late battles written by our chaplin Mr Humphry. Loaned to Charles Carrington of our Comapny $4.00 until pay day. Bought & paid for blanks for Capt Cook $3.50
