49 Collierville Tennessee August 30th 1864 Tuesday I wrote a letter to Mrs, Henderson this morning & had a good visit with the Boys, Edwin favored me with a perusal of Home letters, in one of which I learned of the Death of Col. Kerr of wounds Recd at the Battle of Kenesaw Mountain Ga. I wrote a letter to Mrs Durno. The Train came along with the 12th Iowa at 4 o clock and I got on & went onto Memphis with it. I Recd 5 letters 2 from Jane. one from BenjaminSharp. one from Mother Henderson. & one from Malcolm McKenzie. we found our Baggage in Camp all Right.
