101 La Mien Bridge Missouri October 19th 1964 Wednesday We got on the cars at Jefferson City last night at 8 o'clock and came out to the La Mien River 50 mils which is as far as the cars can run as the Rebels burned the bridge. We suffered from cold all night as we were on the roof of cars and got no sleep. and started out at 10 A.M. and marched through to Sedalia 10 miles passing through Otterville, Farmer's City and encamped at Sedalia. The country is very pretty and well improved, the osage orange fences flourish through this country and answer every purpose as to fence and look very pretty
