106 On The March in Missouri October 24th. 1864 Monday Last night we were allowed onely 3 hours for Rest, Supper, & Sleep Started at 11 oclock at night. the 3d Division in Front, as Rosencrans sent for us in haste, if there was any possibility for us to get up , to come, as Price was supposed to be cornered near Big Blue River, & south of Kansas City. so we marched very fast passing through Independence before day, and Reaching Blue River by nine oclock 15 miles, But as usual Price got off in the night by Destroying part of His Train. Our Cavilry under [Ressey?], Pleasonton, Blunt, & Winslow are and have been fighting Price for two days. But thus far to no purpose onely one waggon Burned & 3 Captured
