107 On The march in Missouri October 25th 1864 Tuesday Rested yesterday afternoon on the White River. where our Cavilry had a fight with price on Sunday losses on Both sides 150. Price got off with all His Train, To day we marched in pursuit Entering the State of Kansas at the little Ruined Villiage of Santa Fee near which we Camped for the night at 2 P.M. marched 15 miles. I had a visit with James Henderson yesterday when He Treated me to a splendid Dinner of pancakes fried Beefs Heart, Tea & Hard Tack His mess chums say He is a good provider & makes many nice little trades with the natives. I also saw Lieut Granger & A. Patterson of 29th. Iowa. as usual we are on less then half Rations
