Saturday October 4th 1884. I sewed most of the forenoon, finished Mothers dress. I heard at noon M.D. Beecher was dead. I telegraphed to Cousin [Loui?] and found I could not get there in the time for the funeral. I spent all the afternoon in town and the evening on the porch thinking of Dear Rob. Sunday October 5th 1884. It was a rainy morning but John and Hatt brought the children. Mr. Ingersoll was here for dinner. I wrote letters most of the afternoon. Went home with the folks and Ott came over to go to church. Monday October 6th 1884. Went to town early and got Mother a new dress. I worked over to Hatts on it all day. Weather pleasanter. Tuesday October 7th 1884. I went to town this morning and got me a couple of dresses and began work on them and began to make me a knitted skirt of white yarn.
