Monday April 9th 1883 We washed today, and Mother was in town all the afternoon and stayed at Hatts till after supper. I played on the piano most of the afternoon and worked on my edging in the evening. May is eight years old today, she started to school. Tuesday April 10th 1883. Bridget got the ironing done before noon I was busy about the work all the forenoon and went to town soon after dinner, was up in the office long enough to write a letter to Charlie and then went down to Hatts and stayed till after supper. The wind was blowing very strong and grew so cold I had to wear a heavy cloak home. I worked on my edging all the evening. Hatts girl came back and went to work again today. I had a letter from Will Reed he has come back from Ohio
